Camborne Music Festival is a member of the British and International Federation of Festivals (BIFF) of which Her Majesty The Queen is Patron. There are almost 300 member festivals across the UK, Ireland and beyond including France, Gibraltar, Italy, Hong Kong, Malta, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka and Trinidad & Tobago. Festivals offer a platform for performance, the opportunity to hear the work of others and the chance to receive feedback from a professional adjudicator.
Camborne Music Festival recognises BIFF’s policy of Creating Safer Festivals for Everyone and there is a clear safeguarding policy available in our syllabus. As a member Festival, we are committed to ensuring safe environments for children, young people and vulnerable adults at risk and believe that it is always unacceptable for a child, young person or vulnerable adult at risk to experience abuse of any kind.
Performers compete in classes of an appropriate standard and are assessed and marked by a professional adjudicator, who has been specially selected to give helpful advice to improve the performances. Adjudicators mark to a common standard so that the same performance at two different festivals receives the same mark. Further details are available in the rules in our syllabus.
